For the potluck themes of 2026 I envisioned a journey around the world, and we are continuing our journey to Noth America

Our journey to North America, is including our Canadien friends and of course Alaska, after all it is summer and picknick season is upon us.

Sailboat Race #9 (Saturday, June 06, 2026)

The Notice of Race with Sailing Instructions (NOR/SI) including the Course Diagram, Start Time and other race details will be posted on the 2026 Racing Page of the AISC website by the Wednesday before the race day.

All seaworthy and insured monohull sailboats are invited to race - no spinnakers, but whisker poles attached to the mast are allowed. Membership in the Amelia Island Sailing Club is required (annual membership $125) for the boat owner. Membership is recommended for other crew members. Sailboats visiting Amelia Island are invited to race, with no membership requirement. A Provisional PHRF Rating can be provided by the AISC Race Committee for boats without a rating certificate, and it is recommended that an official PHRF Rating Certificate be obtained from First Coast Sailing Association (FCSA - $35) in which AISC is a member.

Who is this course for? Students who’d like to spend time sailing to refresh their skills or help prepare for upcoming classes, sailing season...
What will you learn? This 3-hour hands on sailing session is entirely on the water with an Instructor and 4 other students. Refine your skill at the helm, trim sails for optimal performance and partake in different docking situations. No ASA certification is offered for the clinic.
Class Size: A minimum of 4 students and maximum of 6 students per boat.
Price: $80 per student. (AISC current members will have priority)

2026 GA-FL Ocean Challenge Race (Saturday, October 24, 2026)

Annual 26nm ocean race from St. Simons Island (GA) to Amelia Island (FL), hosted by the Amelia Island Sailing Club.

Registration is required for this race by clicking on the race listing on the Events Page on the AISC Website. Registration will open when the NOR is posted, usually about two months before the race.

The race is open to all sea-worthy, self-righting and insured monohull sailboats, and sailing club affiliation is not a requirement. PHRF ratings are required preferably from First Coast Sailing Association (FCSA) or the AISC Race Committee will assign a PHRF Rating. The race starts in the St. Simons Channel and ends in the St. Marys River Channel. Spinnaker and Non-spinnaker classes. Trophies for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each class.

Makeup Dates - if the race needs to be postponed, the makeup date is Saturday, November 07.

The NOR includes marina reservation information for Morningstar Marina on St. Simons Island and for Fernandina Harbor Marina on Amelia Island.
